SUBJECT: “AI Literacy for All” offered by the Digital Education Council (DEC) Online Course Now Available for Faculty and Staff

The University of Georgia has launched “AI Literacy for All” offered by the Digital Education Council (DEC), a new online course designed to provide students, faculty, and staff with a foundational understanding of artificial intelligence. This course emphasizes the responsible use and implications of generative AI in both academic and professional contexts. It is intended to serve as a shared baseline resource to support a consistent and informed understanding of generative AI across the university community.

The course is now available to faculty and staff as of Wednesday, June 3, 2026. Access for students will be rolled out later this year, beginning Monday, August 10, 2026.

The training is delivered through a third-party platform provided by the Digital Education Council, a global network of institutions focused on advancing innovation in education. The course is structured as a four-hour introductory experience and includes interactive learning activities. Participants may complete the course at their own pace over multiple sessions.

AI Literacy For All Course

To access the training, log in using your UGA email address ([email protected]) and password, following the same process used for UGAMail and Microsoft 365. You may be prompted to verify your login using UGA ArchPass (Duo).

Once logged in, you will be directed to the Digital Education Council platform, where the course and all related materials are hosted.

Additional information:

This training is highly encouraged but not required.

Upon completion, participants will have the option to download a certificate of completion and may add it to their list of micro-credentials on LinkedIn.
